About this place

Ocean Path follows Acadia's pink-granite shoreline from Sand Beach past Thunder Hole toward Otter Cliffs. The route alternates between packed surfaces and rougher rocky sections, with frequent views of the open Atlantic and the ledges below.

The complete NPS-described outing is 2.2 miles one way, or 4.4 miles round trip. Kampilo directs drivers to the Sand Beach trailhead and never draws the campground-to-trailhead road as a hiking line.
