About this place

Skull Rock is a naturally weathered granite formation beside Park Boulevard and immediately adjacent to Jumbo Rocks Campground. A signed loop moves through boulder piles, sandy washes, Mojave scrub, and the distinctive skull-shaped rock.

The route can begin inside the campground, so it is the one catalog activity that does not require a drive from this base trip. The full NPS-described loop is 1.8 miles with 120 feet of elevation gain.
