Water planning
Unnamed mapped stream or river is mapped at or near the camp-area marker. This is map evidence, not a real-time flow report.
Natural water is not verified potable. Filter and disinfect it or boil it according to the linked land-manager guidance before drinking.
Unnamed mapped stream or river is classified as perennial in USGS hydrography, but current flow still must be confirmed.
Fire planning
Bull Creek Camp is an undeveloped backcountry camp area in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Open fires are prohibited at Humboldt Redwoods primitive trail camps; verify current stove rules. Ground fires are not authorized; use a park-provided fire facility only when the selected camp has one and the park has not suspended fires.
Portable gas stove in the assigned camp when park rules allow. Use a self-contained portable gas stove only in the portion of the assigned camp approved by California State Parks. Extreme-fire-danger and red-flag restrictions can suspend stove use.
The required backcountry reservation or permit does not itself grant fire permission. California State Parks does not identify a separate California Campfire Permit for an approved portable stove inside these park camps.
Check the current Humboldt Redwoods State Park notice and the assigned camp posting before using any flame; State Parks may prohibit wood, charcoal, or every flame device without changing the reservation.
Seasonal access
No recurring date-based closure of Bull Creek Camp is published. The source-connected approach conditions below and temporary emergency orders still control access.
Source-connected approaches: Albee Creek Trailhead, Burlington Trailhead, Hansen Ridge Trailhead. Humboldt Redwoods trail camps do not share a fixed annual closure window. High water, fallen trees, storm damage, wildfire, and seasonal footbridge or road conditions can close an approach or individual camp.
Confirm the selected trail camp, registration requirements, bridge or ford status, and current park notices before departure.
