Ohlone Wilderness Trail, California
Eagle Springs is an official designated overnight location reached by the pinned agency trail route shown in Kampilo.
A reservation or permit is still required, and the map does not guarantee site availability or current access.
Water planning
Eagle Springs and Mission Creek are mapped at or near the camp-area marker. This is map evidence, not a real-time flow report.
Natural water is not verified potable. Filter and disinfect it or boil it according to the linked land-manager guidance before drinking.
Eagle Springs has variable or unclassified seasonality; confirm it immediately before departure. Mission Creek is classified as intermittent and may be dry.
Fire planning
Eagle Springs is a reserved East Bay Regional Park District backpack camp. Use fire only in a provided facility when the reservation and current fire-danger notice expressly allow it; never build a ground fire or gather wood.
Portable gas stove at the reserved backpack site. Use a self-contained gas backpacking stove at the assigned site and keep it attended. A park closure or high-fire-danger notice can suspend all flame use.
The backpack-camping reservation is required. EBRPD does not identify a separate California Campfire Permit for an approved portable stove at the reserved site.
Check the EBRPD fire-status notice, water-status report, and the assigned camp instructions before departure; those current notices control over the standing reservation information.
Seasonal access
No recurring date-based closure of Eagle Springs is published. The source-connected approach conditions below and temporary emergency orders still control access.
Source-connected approaches: Del Valle Ohlone Trailhead, Sunol Visitor Center Trailhead, Stanford Avenue Trailhead. The Ohlone corridor has no published recurring closure season, but extreme heat, storms, fire danger, park-hour changes, and seasonal spring failure can make a trip unsafe or unavailable.
Confirm the backpack-camping reservation, all three park access conditions, and the live EBRPD water-status list immediately before departure.
