Big Pine Creek North Fork Trailhead is the eastern access point for the numbered Big Pine Lakes and the Palisade basin. Kampilo's first network follows the official North Fork trail to Second and Third lakes, then the official Fifth Lake spur.
Big Pine Canyon Road climbs west from U.S. 395 to the Glacier Lodge and trailhead area. Parking can fill during busy periods, and mountain weather, fire restrictions, and seasonal road conditions should be checked before travel.
