Trailhead
Mission Peak Regional Preserve, Alameda County, California
Stanford Avenue is the western EBRPD approach to the four reservable Eagle Spring backpack sites on Mission Peak.
The signed hike is about 4.5 miles from Stanford Avenue; Eagle Spring supplies nonpotable water and a chemical toilet, and every site is limited to the party size on its reservation.
Seasonal access

Park-specific staging and overnight parking: Use the signed Mission Peak Stanford Avenue Trailhead access in Mission Peak Regional Preserve, Alameda County, California. Use the staging area named by the reservation: Black Diamond Mines, Mission Peak Stanford Avenue, Morgan Territory Road, Round Valley, or Sibley. Day-use hours do not independently authorize overnight parking. Stewartville and Morgan Territory backpack camps close each November through March. Mission Peak, Round Valley, and Sibley remain subject to heat, storm, fire, water-system, and park-hour closures.
Confirm the exact reservation and park alert. Round Valley's water system is currently out of service, and a reservation does not override a preserve closure.
