About this place
McGee Creek Trailhead is the eastern entry for McGee Canyon and McGee Pass in the John Muir Wilderness. Kampilo follows the official McGee Pass, Steelhead Lake, Big McGee Lake, and Pacific Crest trails to ten supported camp areas from Horsetail Falls through Warrior Lake.
McGee Creek Road leaves U.S. 395 and continues beyond the campground toward the trailhead. Road, snow, storm, fire, and current Forest Service conditions should be checked before travel.
