About this place
Mosquito Flat is the high-elevation road end and physical trailhead for Little Lakes Valley. The trail follows Rock Creek into the John Muir Wilderness and connects the Heart, Box, Long, Chickenfoot, and Gem lake camp areas supported by Kampilo.
Rock Creek Road is paved but seasonal. Summer parking is limited, and snow, storms, or road work can change access, so current Forest Service conditions should be checked before departure.
